Hey, i fit that description.  LOL!  Man I love upping a Stuka to attack a carrier.  If (and a big IF) I make it to target once I deploy the dive flaps and kick her over the CV is gonna go boom.  Just wish I could see the look on the faces of the crew..  Now the hard part is getting out once everyone has seen my slow target and all of a sudden every red icon converges on me.  LOL

B-17s, Ju-88s, B-24's, and other heavy bombers generally used a tactic where tight formations and massed firepower were their defense (at least in daytime bombing, which is the only thing we have in the game).  When attacked by enemy fighters, they stayed in formation.  We get this in a small sense with the three plane box.

Stukas, TBMs, and SBDs all had defensive guns, but when attacked by enemy fighters, would disperse and maneuver rather than tighten up and depend on return fire for protection.  As such they do not get a three plane box.

Different tactics, different methods, and not surprisingly, treated differently in the game.

+1 in concept. However, as you know, Stukas are dive bombers. As it is now, drones cannot keep up with this function.

I've had no problem divebombing in 3 ju-88s and those ARE divebombers

Yes I divebomb in the 88 as well.  If left alone it can be deadly.

Hmm tell all that to Saburo Sakai who was wounded by TBMs off Guadalcanal.
His words.

" I was in a trap! The enemy planes were not fighters, but bombers , the new Avenger torpedo planes, types I had never seen before. From the rear they looked exactly like Wildcats.
No wonder they tightend their formation. They were waiting for me now I was caught with eight guns aiming at me from the right and an equal number from the left."

Defensive formations with combined firepower for mutual protection was exactly their tactic until the actual dive was in progress. Even torpedo bombers kept a loose formation during the attack phase. Not to mention both US and Japanese Torpedo planes had level bombing sights to be used in the level bombing roll. I have to say Klam is on to something.

Perfect explanation to why it's -1:

What'd be cool to see is right before you wing over to dive, have some function that puts the drones in a trail or line abreast formation.  That way they could imitate your original dive and hit results, all while giving it a a cool effect of actually diving from a formation.
