request about the m-3
« on: January 24, 2011, 07:18:53 PM »
i was looking over the info for the m-3 earlyer, and i noticed it said

"crew:3+10 passengers"

and it got me thinking, does an m3 really take a 3-man crew to drive it? im guessing the extra two cremembers are for the mg. (one the gunner, one the ammo handler, also i say this without ever actually seeing an m-3 in real life. so i apologize if im mis-informed).
so my wish is-

could we have the option to choose the m-3 WITHOUT an mg? and therefore open up room for 12 passengers instead of just  10?
those 2 extra soldiers could make all the difference in a full-on heated battle.
just my wish  :salute

Not all M3's were equipped with both .30s and .50s and not all M3s had 3 crew members, it really depended on the role of the half track.  Sometimes M3s would operate with a crew of one and sometimes as many as 5 or more, again depending on what role the half track was performing.

As for Nemisis'...err tyrannis' request...he just wants to be able to carry more troops to make it easier to capture a base.  HiTech set a limit of 10 troops for the M3 and and C-47, one must learn to live and work within such confines.  Surprised he hasn't asked to carry more than 10 troops in a C-47.

Yup.  Just for reference, the one at Oshkosh 2 years back had the .50/.30 combo.

Surprised he hasn't asked to carry more than 10 troops in a C-47.

That is a great idea! Combine that with formations of C47s (like all other 'bomber' aircraft) and it would be awesome!!

I believe HiTech has said before if gvs/planes can carry more than 10 then he'll up the number of troops needed to take town to whatever the new max they can carry.

as easy as the towns are to capture now they should up the troop number to 20 or 30.

I agree but leave the troop limits the same for M3s and goons so multiple troop sorties are needed.
