Update for external engine sounds
« on: January 26, 2011, 01:10:33 AM »
Ok so everyone knows that when an engine is not at full power, it does not sound like it is... I propose that if the enemy (or allies near you) throttles back, you hear the same in your cockpit as external sounds.

I'm not sure if I understand what your saying. You mean if the engine of the aircraft next to you is working at full power and your engine is at idle you want to hear their engine?

Where is the request for M18?  :headscratch:         :neener:

In reality it is very rare to hear someone else's engine over yours (unless your engine is off). The sound also gets distorted by the wind, distance, and direction of the plane. What you can do however is take a plane who's engine sounds on a different frequency than most others (such as 262) and you should be able to hear other engines.

I think I have to say -1.

this is another one of those things where I feel like an oddball....Just today a friend of mine and I were in Spit VIII's and I could tell when he had throttled back..... :headscratch: :headscratch:
Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.
