The 5 Hour Energy Drink's side effects vary from person to person.  For me, it's the ONLY thing that works plus I don't get any kind of crash.  Everything else gives me a little boost for 5-15 mins then a very bad crash.  Someone I know at work tried it once, and it made them feel like they were going to throw up for a couple of hours.  Another had a headache for it's duration.  If you are going to try it, do it on a day off instead of while working.  This way, if it messes you up, you won't get into hot water with your boss and/or lose out on money from missing work.  Personally, I like it.  I don't drink it all the time, for obvious reasons. :lol  GO TO SLEEP EARLIER!  Seems to help out quite a bit, and you won't have to use energy drinks as often.

Would there be any long term effects if I used it on a ones a month basis? You know thous rare days when you have to stay up for 72 hours.

Again, it varies from person to person.  I use it maybe 4-8 times a month, depending.  The only problem I had is if I wasn't paying attention to the time when I used it, ended up staying up for a couple of hours after I SHOULD have gone to sleep.  This is when I end up using it more often.  Don't want to be asleep at the wheel after all. :lol  So far, I've only used it once this month.  Last month I used about 8 of them, with the holiday's and what-not.

This is why I am recommending you use it on a day off with no plans.  So you can find out if it'll work or not, or make you feel sick.

The scary part is that you probably did look at what you wrote and did not see anything wrong with it.  You are still correcting my poorly built sentences using poorly written sentences  :lol

5 hour claims to have the same amount of caffeine as "a" cup of coffee.

They have an incredible amount of vitamin B12 and B6 which I think are the "secret" ingredient.

I use them quite a bit and have NEVER gotten the "jitters" or have "crashed" like I have on caffeine.

All in all, I like them.

Then the "nitro" works on you- consider yourself lucky.  Imagine the body being an engine, if you use too much nitro the engine blows.

Hmmmm, interesting thread. Being a teenager, energy is in constant demand for me, which really sucks at times. I've used 5-hour energy before, and it helped, but I didn't notice a huge boost. It was barely able to give me enough energy to mow the lawn after an all-nighter I pulled. What I like to do to keep me awake and energy filled is to drink water, Gatorade when I need it, (like when I'm working out), eat food, and listen to some very loud music. What I need to start doing is get A LOT more sleep and to take more vitamins.

IMHO energy drinks are just sodas with extremely high sugar content and a bunch of other stuff that will jack you up like a spider monkey. AMP worked for me once, and I had an awesome day snowboarding because of it, but my stomach and intestines hated me for it later.

It's a shame that school starts earlier when we need the most sleep.  Here sports take precendence over sleep and all it stands for- a real shame.
