Midway...the pile it, not the island
« on: January 27, 2011, 06:17:21 PM »
All those in favor of forcing Midway into the dueling bracket, please +1 here....Midway, when you get peer-pressured into the bracket, remember, no HOing on the first pass...after that, you're cleared hot!  DOH!!!!

Fighting implies that he will not do everything that he possibly can to try to HO on 1st pass, be proud of that fact and then espouse that it is the best tactic to level the playing field against someone with more experience.

The HO is fine by me it is just the John Wayne Merge, Face to face guns blazing. Anyway the DA is worthless because of F-3 mode so hunt him up in the MA.

Mid is not a bad guy, aside from rudely HOing in a Spixteen every chance he gets. But most Spixteens HO. The real fault I find with Midway is that he hypocritically harps on those old and false saws "It takes two to HO, the HO is easy to avoid, the HO puts you at a tremendous disadvantage", etc.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

It takes 2 to HO  :old:

100% of my time is spent in German iron.

98% of that time is in a plane carrying a a mk108.

It may take 2 to HO but only 1 to die from kartoffel to the face syndrome.

Everyone HO's from time to time.  It is inevitable.  It's his reliance on it and unwillingness to let anyone teach him any sort of ACM that is cheap and tiresome.

Midway might have a bit of a gob but if you tell him something or offer him some advice, he listens and learns and that, I can respect.

Well I can't say much more than I already did as I don't know him that well.

Midway isn't any different than 80% of the pilots in Aces High except he is honest about his front quarter shots.

I'd cut him some slack, let him improve on his own terms. Forcing someone to do otherwise will only cause frustration.
