Hell, I don't even lock mine.  Even when I park in Philly.

I'd rather anyone looking to rob me just open the door to find nothing of value (because I don't leave anything important in it) than to cut my top and actually cost me money.

I have even gone so far as to put a sticker on the dash stating that fact.

  :D

As for the ignition?  I have 3, 3-way toggle switches that I have wired as a kill switch    :rock

well, it's comin out tonight, as i suspect it as part of the possible problem. when i looked under the dash, the alarm module, and some of the wiring is zip tied to the clutch pedal return spring.

Sounds like a winner   :aok

There used to be a guy where I worked that had an alarm with an interior motion sensor on his Wrangler.  Every time the wind blew in the summer, his Little Tree (yes, he had an air freshener on the mirror with the top down) would flop around and set off the alarm.

It got so bad that the owner said that he would have to disable the alarm at work or he was going to start docking his pay by 10 minutes every time it went off because that is about how much company time he wasted to walk out, reset it, and walk back into the shop.  (it was a big parking lot)

I have a '97 SE 5 speed manual  4 Banger.  Occasionally the dash stops working. Speedometer and tach stop and airbags light turns on. I give it a good thump on top and that solves it. As for the noises I just turn up the radio.

*hijack *
Anybody want to buy a '97 Jeep wrangler SE 5 speed manual 4x4, 60000 miles and broken a/c?  It seats 4 and I have a family of 5. Great firehouse car, never get stuck in the snow. Black, soft top, hard top doors, steal trunk lid, steal glove box, cut in driver side rear window and it's dirty (it's a Jeep what do you expect?) In chicago.
$6000

Don't forget the dent in the dash :D

I think the carpet was the first thing I removed.  Second were the drain plugs, followed by those flotation devices attached to the ends of the bumpers.

 :rofl

It has got be annoying.

Never understood it on a vehicle that you can remove the top and doors...  Just about everything sets it off.

AS i screw that stuff up it'll come off. he had me put fog lights in it about 18 years ago, and i removed those silly bumper thingies then.

I don't understand a lot of the stuff on the newer Jeeps.

Aluminum wheels being one of them.  Bend one and it's ~$200-300 for another.

I've got Cragar Soft 8's.  Bend one on the trail and out comes the BFH.  Enough to get you home and buy another for $49.99  :D

Another thing is anything that is in front of the tires.  One can only climb something as tall as the bumper as it impedes the tire from rolling over it...

you have posi rears in that? that was one thing i noticed about this one. it's got open rears at both ends. kinda sucks compared to my old chevy that had a posi in the rear, and limited slip in the front.
THAT truck never got stuck

yea, i saw that in the pic. i've got a warn winch brand new in the box, that's gonna find its way onto this, if i don't sell it in the springtime.

i don't think i can get the angles you're getting either, as the 89's had leafs at all four corners.

The upside is that it's cheaper to lift with leafs  :aok

I have no lift yet (hence the reason my fender flares are wallowed out in the shape of the tires)

I have some 2" spring spacers and 2" body lift spacers that I turned down out of some UHMW polyethelyene.  Should give me some decent clearance.  I'm also got some 1" tube that I am going to make flat fenders out of.

Right now it's too effing cold to go put any of that on though.  (i do not have a garage, yet)

got it.

bad grounds on the passenger side of the engine block, right near the oil dipstick.
 bad ground under the dash
bad connection on the alternator feed wire to the battery + terminal
bad ground on the drivers side valve cover to the firewall.

and i think that the alarm was screwing me over too. it's already in the circular file.
