they killed the betty's and then had an epic furball! it was pretty wild actually. based on my calculations, after they dropped their droptanks they had 28 minutes of fuel left. at a 2.0 burn rate, they had enough time to fight for 10 minutes before heading back.

as far as i know, on one P-38 survived and he landed on a carrier.

it was a great time no matter what!

I don't think any of the 38's made it back, AFAIK I was the last 38 standing and I had a swarm of angry axis planes chasing me out of there.   The idea of flying all the way home seemed a little boring so I turned around, didn't last long after that. :)

Next time you run this setup, you must turn off kill messages & run logs.  This is so more than one guy can claim the kill on Yamamoto, then you can let it brew on the boards who got him. When the kettle is about to boil over, release the name and fame  :x  THAT would be cool  :airplane:

By the way, who was the lucky SOB that got the Emperor's Golden boy?

I landed my P-38 on acarrier, but never made it to the battle. Poor planning. I was late, forgot to add extra fuel and was just about dry half way there.

when that happens, open up the E6B. look at it. you'll see different rpm and manifold pressure settings.....you can stretch that fuel.

that being said......in the p-38, i generally roll with 50% internal, and 2 drop tanks. the only exception to this, may be if we have crazy turny stuff, and i'm in the "J"....then i take 25% internal, and 2 drops.

Very good question, I do know that it is a dot command. Something like  .startlog, then it goes in to a file
in the AH directory like a photo or film.  The racing guys & FSO guys use them all the time. I will check around
to see how to read them :aok
