The case for guns on C47
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:00:24 AM »
I swear I could not find a fight this a.m. or at least one where they weren't hugging werbles and ack until I flew a c47 for a base capture. Then I had 5 planes on me. So I would like something with multiple warheads.

Here's what to do.

Build a time machine / Meet Doctor Who

Travel back to WW2

Redesign the goon with defensive armement.

Untill you do that, or find proof that it was done, the goon should be defensless as it was in WW2. There is a reason fighter cover is recommended.  :aok

The Russians armed a version of the C47 I think with a 20mm cannon or heavy machine gun. It was in the wishlist forum a while ago...........

I'd like to have that one

The problem is that gun will probably not do much help.

You'll just find 999000 in a goon racking up kills.

Hey, you never know what you are going to see on this forum. If you look under the C-47 you can see an MC-130E Combat Talon. I can ID it from the fulton yolks and the buffer boards on the cargo ramp. Wish I could read the tail number as I probably logged a few hours on that Talon. Carry on.

We now take you back to your regularly scheduled program.

I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that "in aces high any troop carrying aircraft would always remain unarmed".
