A blocked number.....
« on: January 30, 2011, 11:25:02 AM »
I've gotten 7 calls in the last 2 days from a blocked number. I answer, and I hear nothing. Is there any way I can find out who this person is? It's really starting to bug me.

Just a prank caller. I don't answer any private phone calls. If it's important they leave a voicemail

90% of the time it's some little kid thinking they're funny by calling random numbers and laughing on the other end.

There is a procedure you can use that your phone company will trace the phone number and report it to authorities, you will not be made aware of that number but it will be investigated.  Contact them first.

If its a blocked call, *69 will just report that it came from an unknown number. At least here thats what it does. (ATT)

no, you do not want to do that. you just simply want to ignore this person, and the calls will stop.....and you will get in no trouble that way.

You could call the FBI and tell them an Arab speaking person keeps trying to recruit you to carry a package for them from that number, then the FBI would kick him in the nuts so you dont have to.........   :lol

one habit i have........on my cell phone, if there is no number displayed, i do not answer. everyone i may want to talk to on the phone.....both near and far......have my cell number......or will get it upon request. for this reason, if i see a number i don't recognize...same thing...i don't answer. i also don't ever answer my house phone, as it exists only for my dsl connection.

prank callers are soo lazy nowadays. me and some friends used to come up with humorous ploys that would actually draw the person into playing along. when I get prank called I always try to "one up" the pranker by getting under their skin. Now people call and say nothing until you hang up...lame
