If I were an RAF fighter pilot during WW2... I would allow the bomber to touch down in England, I wouldn't of allowed it free passage back across the channel though.
In Aces High... If I come across a target which is limping back home, I will leave it be. Unless I was the one who made it start limping ofc, then the bast@rd dies!

I think it would be ironic if that bomber had just come from egging his home town killing his wife and children.
If I was over my territory, and colud force them to land and be captured alive, then I would try that only if it in no way possible would put me at risk. Not out of Chivalry, but because live prisoners might have intelligence value from iterrogation.
Chivalry, and other schoolboy, have no place in war. Kill every single one. Relentlessly. Every. Single. One. Until they are gone, or surrender unconditionally.
