Infinity Ward by far, they come out with cleaner, more exciting, smoother playing, less glitchy COD's, plus they actally make other stuff too unlike Lamearch

6 one way; 1/2 dozen the other; they both produce twitchy games for twitchy players.

Infinity Ward made the better Call of Duty titles without a shadow of a doubt. But it's never going to be the same IW since Activision chitcanned their lead designers. I'm pretty sure most of the staff walked out soon after.

Marginally better games from IW, same rotten state of mind in either studio.  Here a Tryarch employee pontificates his audience:

What, in your mind, is the biggest problem facing the games industry today, and if you had the power, how would you fix it?
Personally, as a community manager who lives in the media or social media world every day, I think the social culture of video games is moving in a more negative direction as technology and social media continues to grow. Rather than growing with it, the trend seems to be devolving. More and more gamers seem to forget what this industry is all about.
It’s a creative industry – the most creative form of entertainment in existence. Too many developers who try new things are getting burned by “pundits” and angry entitled fans who look to be contrarian, sometimes simply for the sake of being contrarian. The only thing this attitude aims to achieve is stunt that creativity and innovation even further, which is something that no rational gamer looking to be entertained would want to do.

Repeatedly recycled game mechanics, ridiculously low if not inexistent evolution from episode to episode, shameless DLC cash cow tactics... The blockbuster video game industry's a racket.

The last four CoD titles have been exactly the same game but with different skins.

It's crazy.  Just crazy.  A relative of mine has worked in a few of the biggest studios and the stuff I hear about the executive clowns in charge is bewildering.

I pray that Dice don't screw-fuk BF3 as BF2 was the best FPS title that I've ever played! BFBC2 was pure console port with it's poor optimisation and laughable control system, no run-strafe, no prone, no lean! I'm surprised that they didn't take away sprint and/or crouch.

It was asked on the battlefid forums why they couldn't go prone, te answer was that it would be impossible to find snipers, and I agree!

haven't heard that one, i saw it was to keep people from jumping and going prone in mid air to become a smaller target.

If you like BF2, I recomend Forgotten Hope 2, it is a free ww2 mod for the game, but it is so much bigger and complex it could be classified as a different game, hands down the best ww2 Fps on the market

Sounds bogus if a dev gave that excuse: make foot contact to ground a prerequisite to going prone.
Prone making snipers too hard to spot... Not really, not when you've got such visible tracers and damage direction indicator.  Even less if you've got team mates on the radio.

BF3 - Not much to do but wait and see.  It's seriously easy to tweak the last few bits that separate BC2 from being as good as people can reasonably wish it were.
I don't mind lack of run strafe or prone.  IMHO the really ugly stuff is all the bugs, weapon balance all over the place, completely wrong ballistics (tracer doesn't even match bullet), inaccurate gun sights (!...), treadmill effect half the time you move up an incline, dysfunctional friends list... A big list that I don't recall anymore.
