You're intent on seeing it you're way, and it's a safe bet that 98% of the people see it the other way.  That should tell you something.

The fact of the matter is that it's been stated, time and again, political discussion is not allowed in the game.  It doesn't matter how you're interpreting a post from Flossy and HiTech from years back and using them to suit your position, the rules are what they are.

I don't care one iota if people want to tune privately and talk politics or religion or abortion or gun control, however, I don't want to hear it on 200, a channel that I have to tune to, as you said, but one that is what everybody uses for general banter and chat.

I enjoy chatting and listening to folks on 200.  There are a lot of laughs.  Telling me to change my ways, a person playing by the rules, to accomodate a group of people that are explicitly violating the rules is backwards logic.

I just love when people make up false statistics and percentages to legitimize their arguments.
Go take a poll of everyone in game and not just the ones posting here then come back with numbers that are more representative of how people feel.

I am not interpreting anything. thats how it went down. I was actually here at the time. Were you?
200 was chosen to accommodate those that didnt want to listen to the banters. Many of which we see complained about now.
You had to choose to go there as such were not forced to deal with it. All you needed to do was stay on the default channel.

Im intent on seeing it my own way because thats the way it was. I didnt suddenly decide to change the reason for 200 to suit my own desires. Which is exactly whats going on now.

Personally, I dont give a rats butt whats typed on 200 for those reasons. I look at it sometimes. If I dont like the discussion. I shrug my shoulders "whatever" shake my head in amusement, or disgust, and move on. I made the choice to be there.
Hell I only barely pay attention to whats being said on squad channel. Ask JG2.

The nonsense thats typed on 200 just isnt that important to me.

In essence Yes, Im saying exactly that.
Again, you seem to forget WHY 200 was chosen for use to begin with. Its a channel you choose to be on. And being here as long as you have You should know that the standard channel was intended for as you say "the other 2-300 people in the game who use 200 for talking back and forth about the game "
200 was a tuned choice. Your choice

Now you dont like the sound of the race cars even though you knew the racetrack was there to begin with so it more closely resembles what channel 1 was supposed to be used for. Thats not why 200 was chosen.

You still haven't shown me where HTC said it was for talking politics in that thread.  I choose 200 because it's the one folks use to talk back and forth between
countries as I enjoy the majority of the people I get to intereact with in the game.  It's the option we were given for that.  Again, HTC didn't say it was for politics.  I read the thread from beginning to end and the only mention as I said, was by Slapshot suggesting 203 be for politics.

I shouldn't have to do anything to prove anything to you.  You're in the wrong.  I've given you good analogies of how the situation exists TODAY, with the rules that we're given.

Regardless of the channel picked for general discussion, the rules state no political discuss.  Why can you not comprehend that simple fact?

You have not pointed out where it was stated that 200 was the channel for political discussion.  Bring up a quote from back then, and then you'll have something concrete to base that belief upon.  And you know what?  The rules are still what they are today, not what they were back in 2004 or 2006.

It doesn't matter if it's 98% or if it's 1% -- the rules are what HiTech says, and we have to abide by them.

I wasn't here during that time.  I was here when the game first came out, then gone for 10 years.

But this isn't about what was then;  it's about what is now.

I do not think that is why 200 was set aside for many years ago.  But let's give you the benefit of a large doubt.  It has evolved away from that.

On that point we are in complete agreement.

All this started to with me pointing out WHY we started go to 200 to begin with.
and its the point I've been trying to make ever since.

Dude, You were here in 2004. Dont you remember that (I'll refrain from saying most) a very large portion of discussions, debates and flames centered around politics?
I could state specific events in the political landscape that were in hot debate at the time. But I think you get my point.
Was it entirely about politics. Absolutely not. But there is no way it didnt play a big part of it.

I know HT doesnt and wont agree with me. But personally if it were me. I'd say simply. "You choose to go there, its your problem. Deal with it or tune back to 1"

If he doesn't agree with you and you know it against the code of conduct, why bother arguing this? Until you 'coad' your own flight sim, you have absolutely no say in the matter and neither do I (it just so happens I agree with Hitech on this one).

Your still splitting straws.

The only thing I've been arguing. Is the reason for 200 to begin with. Which people either dont know because they werent here. Or forgot.

I have stated repeatedly and specifically that HT can institute whatever rules he wishes. And that I rarely break them whatever they are.

And that is regardless of if I agree with them or not. Because it doesnt matter if I or you agree with them. So the fact that you agree is pretty meaningless to me. Because in the end it doesnt matter

I NEVER said that HT HTC or any of its affiliates must allow political speech. Neither in game nor on the boards.

When political speech was allowed. I partook. When he said it wasnt allowed anymore. I stopped.
So please stop telling me that if I want to talk politics that I should (insert random suggestion here)

The basis of your argument was the following statement by you Dred.

"Seems to me I remember this was the entire reason everyone tuned to channel 200 to begin with was to be able to talk about whatever you wanted "

That is an inaccurate statement and the rest of your argument falls apart because of it.  It was never stated it was for talking about whatever you wanted.

Dred I see that you are trying to make a specific point but in reality this thread was about someone breaking the rules and was being reported to HTC, maybe not in the best way possible but it is what the OP had in mind.

You want to discuss the why's and how's in regards to what things are now then start another thread and maybe it won't seem as though people are stacked against you. That is the reason why so many here are pointing out the obvious that it is against the rules.

Maybe a quick post in the wishlist for your arguments to get politics allowed back in game.

Oy vey. I knew I shouldnt have come back.

no. My statement about the time was 110% accurate.
It may not be accurate now. But it most certainly was then.

Maybe a quick post in the wishlist for your arguments to get politics allowed back in game.

This post isnt even worth responding to as your attributing something to me I never said.
At no point did I ever make the argument in that politics should. Or for that matter shoudnt be allowed in the game.
Personally I dont care one way or the other

The only time and the last time I may have ever made such an argument might have been a couple of years ago over in the O'club. And that was about the O'club
The rule was passed and I have since followed it. The subject just isnt that important to me that I HAVE to have those kind of discussions here. And in the game in particular.

There is a time and place I do hold those debates. Here or in game isnt one of em. And in game thats pretty much always been the case as Im usually too busy doing something else to even care whats being said on 200 let alone get into any in depth participation on the subject, or any other for that matter.

Most of my conversations on 200 are pretty brief. Mostly cause I find that id Im paying attention to what I'm doing. rather then caring about what some idiot is bantering about on 200. I find I get more kills that way.

Ok this time I really am out. Its just turned into a merry go round.

And again. It was fun bantering <S> to all

I am just curious why this thread was allowed to continue from the start, we are told ad nauseum that all problems and  issues should be emailed to HTC for resolution, yet the original poster took his so called problem that was "in Game " to the BBS, Then this so called discussion was allowed to flourish and degenerate into a finger pointing fest, the hypocrisy is astonishing sometimes, other posters too the BBS get days off or reprimanded for airing out there dirty laundry on the BBS so why are we here? :headscratch: :headscratch: :headscratch:
