If you fly them both light, they do. If you're loading the N down with a couple thousand pounds of gas, then you're right, you'll feel the difference.
But then, I suppose I'm one of the few that actually dogfights (or... used to) the 47N in a light configuration. Most folks just climb to 30K, make passes on somebody below them, then run for home. (or, they suicide pork CVs or fields with no intention of surviving)
