Please get rid of the Off Hours (Every day is Titanic Tuesday) arena and go back to Orange/ Blue Arenas.  While you are at it...you can get rid of Titanic Tuesday as well.

Just my Two Cents,

I disagree. I would rather have small maps and one arena all the time. Regardless of big or small maps there's only 1 or 2 fights going on anyway so what difference does it make? When I log on for my two hours of fun I want some action. I don't want to spend half the time looking for a fight flying from one base to another.

Ok I'll bite. Why is one "off hours" arena worse?

What does less choices mean? off hours map have 100 fields on it.  Isn't that plenty of choice when there's only 140 folks logged on? Now DadRabit don't get mad at me, but are you looking for large emprty maps to frolic around alone on Milk runs? The thinking is that two maps split the few folks flying to the point of dropping the pilot density below some critical mass, making for a lot of flying around without finding anyone. Are you aguing for that? Why would that be? Not trying to flame, just really interested in what the positive trade offs of flying on an empty map are?

S! suh!  and wont get mad at you...,..

i've never seen "empty" maps when there was a two map system in place, just low numbers.  this is where "choice" comes into play.  i go by what keeps me intrested in the game.  choices of where i can go, amount of hours i can fly for 1 rate of subscription (warbirds) and different airplanes available.  i accepted eny, uncapturable bases and arena locks, off hours is getting to be the straw that broke the camels back (for me).

i fly mostly in the early morning hours (cmt) so there is now less choices for me.  one map, thats it!  no avoiding the hoards (if i want too) no running a tank onto a base and taking a base (somewhat unnoppsed) less choices

i am judging these changes by the amount of time i fly and the enjoyment.  lately i am not flying at all and this, as i have spoke of earlier, is a direct result of off hours.

also, i saw a new map and only got to fly on it for maby 1 day.  1 day!  and now its gone and i'm wondering when i'll see it again.  off hours in place prolly a long time.  look, i've been playin this game a long time, had a lot of laughs,  these changes are killen me....

Actually off hours is providing more choices again. When you log in and have 50 players on a large map... what choice do you have? Can you find a tank battle, a furball, a huge raid to bust, a battle that lasts more than 15 minutes? You see a base flashing here and there, mostly bý a single con. There will be the odd town flashing, but also by a single player in a tank most of the time. You kill him, he's gone. You wanna take part in a base grab? Good luck in trying to convince the other 10 guys going for the same area, not even speaking about  the same base. Most of the time you are looking for action, and if you finally find some it quickly dies

As much as I love large maps and the opportunities for very different battles they do provide in theory: A large map for less than hundred players simply doesn't work. The "choice" you have is bogus then, unless no fighting at all is you choice.
The offhours arena gives those guys flying at offpeak times to participate in the same kind of multiplayer environment the peak flyers can enjoy.

And another word on choice... What choice has a player facing  150/100  20/100 at his prime time, not only for a few minutes but for many hours? Because that's what happened before this new system, every day.
Now, there is no rush to get into LWO before the cap lock anymore. With the old system, you had to get in before the lock, or you were screwed when caps kicked in. Now a offpeak player can log on any time of the day and find action again.

The old system was designed for (and did mostly work) for different player numbers. Those numbers have changed. The parameters had changed, and so the system had to change too.

But I'm looking forward for you to come up with a system that's providing a better gaming environment for all players.

The off hours arena is better! In fact, the hours should be extended to include Friday nights when the squad opps takes away 300 players from the main arenas and leaves the rest of us folks in the MA looking for something to do. The idea is to have more players and more action in 1 arena as opposed to splitting players between arenas. Thumbs up to the off hours arena!

Choice #3: Off line?   :huh

Yeah, I know....

It is possible to "milkrun", planes or gv's, in the off-hours arenas. It's just easier to get busted doing so.

Avoiding a fight should be possible on a large off-hours map. Maybe you're not doing it right?

If you've ever logged on at 4am EST you know there is usually about 40-60 people playing, I can't see having blue and orange open with so few on-line. However, by 1pm EST the number is usually nearing the 150 mark which, IMO could accommodate having two maps to pick from. The problem as I see it is the time the change from the off hours arena back to the dual, orange and blue arenas occurs. Perhaps an earlier switch, say 1pm or 2pm EST would accommodate more people as that is when the numbers seem to climb. I don't know the specifics but I'm sure HTC has info as to the volume of players on-line at a given time.

steve the change used to happen at 1pm EST and the problem was that when the caps kicked in the arenas looked like  130/120,  10/150.   Now that they happen 4 hours later the dynamic caps work better because within 10 minutes of the boot you can get into either arena of your choice and not be locked out for 1-2hours.

Personally I think the only tweak now needed is to keep a small map in orange and call it off hours arena with no boot and save unless it is Tuesday.   Open up a Late war blue arena with a large map (for those of the milking persuasion) at 10pm GMT / 5pm EST.    This way the guys who like the big maps can have 8 hours or so of breathing space from a packed small arena.   Everyone is a winner!

The problem having two arenas up all the time with no caps,  is people will play where the numbers are, so off hours you might get 30 in one and 20 lost in a big map on the other = no fights for anyone in late war.

If you do not boot people from off hours arena, you are seeing 180 players in LWO (capped) and 10 in LWB again.
