distance fuses on 5-inch guns
« on: February 08, 2011, 07:40:23 PM »
think of it as the manualy-calibrated bombsight of ship guns.

have an arena flag to turn this on for, say, FSO, scenarios, etc. and off for the MA

this would be a definite challenge, as the gunner would have to anticipate the incoming plane's trajectory, and type in the distance in Km.

Of course your reply is a fail.  But I got no pictures. Lets just pretend we both know your reply is childish.

ok semp my friend are you gonna take the time to dial in the range of the targer knowing its most likely moving at 300 400 MPH and the odds of you getting it right the first time are slim to none at best. i prefer the proxy fuse flak cannons better becuase you will atleast hit the damn thing.

Good idea, but why not adjust the fuze distance with the throttle?

Yes im against this idea ok, i mean people rarely if ever go after CVs like they did in world war 2 in this game, it most of the time bombed by Buffs. and those are slow and easy to hit with the 40mms.

MANaWAR all he does is sit in a 5inch it's too easy you just gotta throw a couple rounds out there and the shot does it's own thing, I like this idea it will actually take some skill to kill with them

Man I tell ya what.

I hit fighters with a crossing shot at 4K, but you send in some bombers at 3K headed right for the boat, and I can't hit them for anything.

It's quite a sad sight really.
