This appears to be the successor to the VR920
http://vuzix.com/consumer/products_wrap_vr1200.html#box_contents
No pricing revealed yet but supposed to be available this spring.
I'm not savvy enough to understand what the resolutions specs mean and if it will be significantly better than the 920, but I hope so.

Pretty far from fail when compared to any sub 10 000 dollar virtual reality set.
This is where it fails though: Twin high-resolution 852 x 480 LCD displays - the 1280x768 is actually scaled down to even smaller image.

I was VERY excited for these initially. Pre-release, they were spec'd for 720p, and if they had been delivered that way, I would have purchased them.
Clearly, they have some R&D to do.

This is an improvement over the VR920s 640X480. I'm just not sure how much better it will look.
The emagin Z800 is 800X600 and it retails about $1800. I believe Vulcan use to use one and he was happy with it.
I expect this one to be in the $500 range, could be wrong though.
One advantage this new Vuzix model has is left and right eye focal adjustment, The VR920 didn't have that.
The kind of resolution we all really want just can't be done for a reasonable price right now.

Yeah been watching the new model, the independent eye adjustment is attractive. My Z800 is starting to get a bit old now (had many years of use). VR is worth the compromise in screen resolution plus there are some things about the way the eye works that makes demands for resolution different.
