Komet trails.......

Me 163 needs a smoke trail when the candle is lit, a la RATOs on Ar234's, as they (the RATO units) used the same rocket motor... would be neat to have the long smoke trail from the 163 as it zips around the sky......







the coding is already in the game......

Not a huge deal, just a little detail....

It wasn't the same rocket engine.

The RATO units used a Walter HWK 109-500, which used a "cold" Walter drive, there was no real combustion, only a chemical reaction by mixing T-Stoff and Z-Stoff.
The Walter  HWK 109-509 however was a true "hot" rocket, producing thrust by a combustion of T-Stoff and C-Stoff.

Thanks for the clarification, the only knowledge I had on the subject was a single source that had described the RATO units as using the same rocket engine as the Komet.... obviously that was incorrect.

The fact is, tho, the RATO exhaust trail we have in-game could be easily added to the Me-163... and it would be kinda cool, especially when turnfighting with the 163......  :cool:
