Pictures from a Helicopter
« on: February 12, 2011, 10:39:42 PM »
Was able to go up in a helicopter today and now that I have my camera I just had to take it along and get some pictures.. in 20 mins I took 114 pictues  :x

Here's a few.

The Helicopter

The Local Wal-Mart

The dam at Amon G. Carter Lake

The old dam at Amon Carter before they expanded it. The water on the far side is the old lake and the water thats on my side is the new lake.

A little inlet for the lake

This is where I work.

Looks like a lot of fun, so how did you get to fly in a helicopter?

I've always wanted to go up in one myself, I did once but it was a life flight and I really don't remember any of it.

Here in Bowie we have a thing every month called Second Monday Trade Days. The weekend right before the second monday of the month hundreds of people show up and set up booths and sell stuff for the weekend. There's an open public field thats right beside the Trade Day grounds and there's a guy that flies up from New Braunsfels, Tx and gives rides for the weekend.

I kinda have a passion for flying so I've rode 4 months in a row now!! The pilot recognizes me now when I get in and gives me a little longer rides   :rofl
This was the first time I had a good camera with me though so I was glad to get some good pictures!

Is it a silver R44 that gives the rides? If it is I know the guys who fly it.

Okay I've learned a few things here
a) never eat at chicken express in Bowie because Killer has been known to do a lot of nasal spelunking
b) Killer is much younger than I thought he was
I've also got a question

What was going on at the football stadium?

Disregard that post, I just realized you posted a picture of it. Derp.

I'm pretty sure that's Veracity Aviations helicopter, they have a little flight school out at the airport.

a) I don't even know what your talking about here  :huh
b) Well I don't know how old you thought I was but I'm a freshman in college.

And to answer the question I think it was some sorta peewee football. I was surprised to to see something going on there.

I think you must be thinking about Bowie HS down in the DFW area. I can't tell you how many times I've worn a shirt down there that said Bowie and people thought I was from a school down there  :rofl
