Squads that allow side switching
« on: February 14, 2011, 11:50:09 PM »
I'm not looking to join a new squad at this time, but just out of curiosity, do any squads allow their members to switch sides to find a better fight, even if there are some squadies on the current side?
Maybe the squad forum isn't the right place to post, I'm just interested in peoples opinions...

Any number of Squads do that.

So its more of a Squad 'code of conduct' than a game community 'code of conduct' (such as hoing is frowned upon, etc....)?

We don't have any 'law' that says you have to fly on the same side.  Could be you are in a good fight when someone else logs on and they find one somewhere else.  We most times will decide then where we'll fly, and wing up, but there is no mandate on that.  Often times we'll have folks in 3-4 different arenas with a couple in the AvA, a couple in Midwar and a few in Blue and Orange.  Throw in that a few 80th are Trainers, and they may be in the TA, and some might be duking it out in the DA and who knows how many different spots we might.  As long as folks are having fun, it's all good.

I imagine the Muppets are the same way along with a number of other squads.

I know where ardy is going with this. Here is a scenario player A from a squad logs on ..no squaddies are on..he picks the low side of the battle to fly with. A Little while later squaddie b c and d log in and shortly after squaddie e f and g log in. Now player a stays on the opposing side and ultimately kills squaddie b and c numerous times.. what ardy is trying to say is, are their squads that do this and allow it???

I do believe that is what he is asking.

Yes, as sometimes the best fights of the night might be against another squad member.  Sometimes we'll make the decision to hop over to even out the sides with some of us remaining on the original side.  At that point the 38s become the primary targets :)

71 policy is: if you want to switch let everyone on squad channel know, and stay away from where the rest of the squad are flying (ie. if we're on the bish front, try and stick to the bish/rook fight.) avoids spying/collaboration accusations, and nasty surprises. having said that it was quite amusing running into wrongway on bish the other day :D
