squelch who you don't wanna see or hear. done,  quit whining. more annoying to read about people whining than politics. it's obvious people like to talk about things that you don't care for, your gonna get that everywhere, welcome to America, free speech.

You leave your "Free Speech" at the door when you log into the game and into the forums.  

Besides, political and religious drivel does not belong in a game forum or in game and those that insist on "expressing their Freedom of Speech" on Channel 200 should be reported and hopefully muted for a period of time for doing so.

so I guess I'll stand down and let people decide who talks about what for me then.  sure theres rules and guide lines, and also decency and respect, but really, (!!!!the squelch is there for people to use is my point!!!!!)  I have read more whines about politics than actually seeing politics. so I squelch all. easy. and done.   this is an annoying reoccurring topic. and we are ALL enablers to the topic. complaining about politic subjects is still political talk.    don't single me out when I'm speaking is defense of BOTH sides.

Not taking sides, but when you have players with handles like PrsObama, Gaypride (just two used as an example) and a few others, you got to expect some sort of reaction from the others,at least at first. I wont comment on why someone chooses the in-game ID that they do (suffice it to say, some are probably chosen for initial shock effect) but if by choosing a handle that might in and of itself lead to a somewhat inappropriate discussion, violating the rules of the game, then shouldn't HTC also have a finger pointed in it's direction for having approved the handles in the first place? Regardless, you will always have people who will incite others to comment about how wrong something is, what the state of the nation is, someones sexuality or how right or wrong current religious dogma may be. Occam's Razor used here might suggest we move away from cross country chat thereby removing the behavior altogether.  But that's another discussion.

Again, I'm not trying to lay blame, the inappropriate behavior rests squarely with the ones using it, but IMHO some of the off color conversations in-game might have been curtailed somewhat if the "catalyst", that is, the provocative handles used by some, were deemed inappropriate at the start and they were made to choose another. The flip side to this is "it's just a name", but we all know, sometimes a name is more than just a name.

Ack beat me to it. We pay HTC $15 a month and play in their world. They get to make the rules and they say NO POLITICS OR RELIGION!!!

as someone who does not care about politics, religion and most other stuff I'd gladly step up and be a mod for the off hours arena. 

It is usually the dead of night when the people I refer to as the twilight fruitcakes start blabbing.   I'd keep it locked down tight.

I think maybe you and ack ack got the wrong idea of my point.  I agree with you both and the rules. I just say it's gonna happen cause it's who we are. the squelch works wonders. I never promoted the political talks. only pointed out that hearing ABOUT it is just as ridiculous and annoying.

they just need to permaban the people, its always the same ones, always, they just get the limp wristed slap and come back, sometimes i wonder if the Mods let it go depending on who the mod is ( or there friends of those braking the rules and ignore it) either way its something that certian people always push and they know they are when there doing it they just keep bending the rules to fit them

Mods can only give limited mutes and warnings, Thats all they can do. If you think someone is continuing to abuse the system email us.

We do not allow Id's like you state, but we have no way of filtering all combination that can be thought of. A simple email to us with the abusing ID is all it takes to fix it.

So I  believe you should point that finger at yourself.

This forum, and in the game itself, is not public property and "free speech" arguments do not come into play.  Read the rules, abide by the rules, or be smote by those who wrote the rules for playing in their private domain.
