joystick erratic
« on: February 17, 2011, 04:36:31 PM »
I'm sure this question has been asked before.  :uhoh I am having a hard time getting my Logitech Extreme 3D pro adjusted to the point that I can hold it on a target. I noticed last night in a field gun that it kept sliding to the right and bouncing up and down while trying to shoot a GV that was on the airfield. Maybe it's just worn out. Any suggestions appreciated.

If you haven't calibrated lately, that's your first step.  Then in map controllers on your clipboard, hit the Y axis and click on enable scaling.  Add in a small amount of deadband, which will keep things from moving if your stick's center is vague.  Repeat for the X axis.  I also did this for the twist rudder to cut down on unintended rudder inputs.  You can also experiment with the scaling sliders to make your stick less squirrely, though this can make your stick feel less responsive.

And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."
