Those Doras and 163s look interesting.  I wonder if their 163s saw any combat, would be nice to have another 163 skin in the bag.

No captured skins allowed. The only real case would be for the 190D, as a number of those were captured on the ground and pilots from some regionality (I don't recall which -- Poland, maybe?) flew them. However, this was 1 flight out of hundreds of thousands of planes involved on all sides. A very small number.

The others were all test planes, captured trophies, etc.... Considering they didn't have He162s anywhere near the Soviet lines I'd be willing to wager that's a post-war captured plane, after Berlin had been over-run. I would say the same about the 163s as well.

None of those are valid for use as skins in AH based on HTC's criteria/requirements.

Bustr, you put forth an idea. I explained why it 1) wasn't all that great with regards to AH, and 2) why it won't happen (HTC said "No!" to captured skins...). It is nothing personal and I hope you were not insulted.

In the east, the Russian advance towards Berlin reaped war booty aplenty. This included between 6 to 10 Focke-Wulf Fw190D-9’s captured intact by the 2 Guards IAP of 322 IAD at a Focke-Wulf facility near Marienburg, East Prussia. Fresh from the production line it appears that at first they were not flown but were, for propaganda purposes, painted with red stars by the Air Force of the Baltic Fleet.

From this selection of Dora’s, it appears that one example was chosen for extensive flight-testing by NII VVS. However, as Russian types in production such as the Yak-3 and La-7, were according to the Dora test pilots better aircraft, the remaining examples were not flown. It appears that they ended their days being used for gun sighting and identification training on the ground by Russian pilots of the 322 IAD before probably being scrapped.

Seems like a valid response to me.  Answered the question in an informed and non-condescending way. Maybe there is a past here I am unaware of.

any story about that 262? did they capture it after the war or during? and did it ever see combat use with the russians?
