fun times in the AvA
« on: February 18, 2011, 09:52:23 PM »
 :salute guys.

had an hour to kill before i went back to the hospital for my friend (he's awfully sick, been with him since yesterday), so to take my mind off of things, i popped in the AvA. i always enjoy flying in there, and the current setup: North Africa 1941, was right up my alley. so, let's get to the action:

it's dawn over the desert, and I take my faithful 109F up, on patrol

suddenly, i see something off my nose. it's a Hurricane! i manuver into position, and take a shot

cannon shells impact the engine, and the Tommy goes down! scratch one fighter!

then, i see a squadmate in trouble. a spitfire is right on his tail! i manuver into position once again, but the British pilot sees me, and the dogfight begins! finally, after what seemed like an eternity of twisting, turning, and dodging, i manage to pull off a high-angle deflection shot, killing the Tommy pilot.

scratch two!

at this point, i decide to head back to base. suddenly, three Tommy planes bounce me!

all i can do to save myself is outrun them. it seems to be working, when then:

Schiess! a lucky shot has left me wounded! now it is really a race back to base. Mercifully, they break off of me, and i find a remote outpost to land at, amidst blacking out.

i pull my wounded bird into the aircraft hangar, allowing the medical staff to attend to me, and to let the mechanics inspect my precious Franz.

the RAF sure did try to make swiss cheese out of me today, but as a testament to the toughness of my aircraft, i was able to make it back, relatively unharmed.

so, come fly the AvA! you're always sure to find heart-pounding action, and the no-icons fighting really is a lot of fun!

I was laughing about you taxiing all the way to the hangar. In a game where you can spawn on the runway and ".ef" as soon as you stop on tarmac taxiing just seems silly lol

Speaking of AvA, any chance of getting some saturday action started in there soon?
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

I would but I'm posting between doing Saturday morning housework, paying bills, and catching up on some paperwork.
