Not complaining....
« on: February 23, 2011, 01:14:03 AM »
QUite a few times tonight, I found myself in great position for 200 off dead on "light em up and fly away" kill shots as well as many snap shots and deflection shots that would normally put a plane in the ground or burn em up. Many of those times I watched my rounds go RIGHT THROUGH the AC I was tryin to kill. I tried to relog and even tried changin convergence, etc. At first I thought I was just seein stuff but then I dove on a Goon who basically was n full view, pulled the trigger on my Jug, and to my amazement watched the rounds go STRAIGHT throught the AC as if it was a mirage...now as I said, tried all the noral stuff, but then heard from a few others that it seemed to happen to them as well. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this or heard anyone talk about it. Possibly the new patch or maybe connection. Just wondering guys.

I thought you were going to say you were flying an aircraft that can miss high deflection shots due to targets "flying in between the bullets"... but then I read you were flying a P47.  :headscratch: NOTHING should be able to make it through that hail of gunfire unscathed. Start recording your sorties, dude. Get a closer look at what's going on.

Good luck.

I skimmed your OP again and I don't think you mentioned your convergence settings. With those wing-mounted guns it's very possible that at the point-blank ranges your fuselage can be pointed at the target but your guns will be way off. I'm sure you know this but with the right convergence settings you can have a great every-range performer.

I saw a lot of this myself yesterday morning.  Had a few times where a bandit was dead on my six, me in a 38, him blazing away, and not even a ping.  The reverse was also true.  I admit I'm a mediocre shot most of the time but I seldom get saddled up on a guys 12 o'clock in my 38 and not take some hits.

Scotty, you are right.

I don't know the cause.

Some players said that it is the high speed.

I did not agree at all.

I think that it relies also in internet lag and cpu speed.

Let reduce your speed and/or find a right angle of fire.
