before I ship this puppy off

I tried to do a rip and rebuild and 'upgraded' to windows 7 to see if that helped my problem out.. nope

In order to start up I have to leave the 7 disc in and it does pretty well.  No disc no boot. 

Any ideas?

Have you set it up to boot off of your hard drive, or is it still set to boot from CD drive?

set to boot from HD and it's a no go Mel and yes I do have your project saved but it takes an hour to install CS4

upgrade from XP to 7 so it was a total rip and rebuild. 

Decided on the R&R before I dropped the $$'s to ship it to TD (I don't let anybody but TD touch my computer) and I don't feel like spending the day reinstalling everything just so I can watch it go bye bye tomorrow.  Just hoping somebody has a magic fix before I box her up.

Gotta say this though.. 7 does seem to have a more crisp look to it.

Yeah, when 7 first came out I wasn't too enthused. However, the school I'm attending switched over to 7 and I gotta say that I've learned to like the interface.

P.S. I can't really find any pics that are SFW Dicho.  I'll keep digging, but it looks like it may be a no go on the 'ol Lady.

ok...i'm pretty sure i know what's going on...

does win7 delete and rebuild the partition without an error?

if so once the partition is rebuilt does it format without errors?

win7 upgrade should do a full install without the need for another version of windows on the drive...at least the ones i've used have.

there is a power saving api in the bios that needs to exist and be enabled for win7 to install properly...i've seen some bizarre errors and it took hours to find the fix.

If you take the disc out Dicho, what error messages do you get. Sounds like your hd/mbr has popped its clogs.

If its the mbr, I'll direct you to something to help (fully legit obviously)

By boot do you mean it boots normally to windows desktop or it boots into win7 setup?

When you did the install, did you do it on a brand new harddrive or over a used one? Some people have reported that their computer booted only with a cd in when the disk partition was not set active. This can happen if you format the partition yourself instead of letting Win7 do it for you.
