I've been taking 75% lately. Bomb eight cities, RTB with 15 minutes left, just in case I need to land further to the rear.

I took 50% in the beginning too and was also landing with single digit minutes of flight time at full throttle left.

166 for 100% so 41.5 for 25%, 83 for 50% and 124.5 for 75% .. at mil power at sea level. fuel burn goes down higher up once it's not making full MP, so even on 50%, you'll be in the air a lot longer than 83 mins.

I usually do...

but in the B-29, i found the autopilot won't keep the altitude at max cruise settings at 25k or above.

And no, I do not fly a 300 perks formation at 240mph at 15k 10 sectors into enemy airspace

It seems to me that the current perk cost on the B29 is affecting game play in a positive way.

-- B29s are being used in their intended role, high altitude bombers instead of dive bombers as the OP was planning, "just for lols".

-- Because of the high B29 perk price, there have been tons of people upping the other bombers in the set to build points so they can use B29s.  I'd be interested in seeing a Snail chart detailing bomber usage as soon as we have a full tour with B29s on the books.  My impression has been that there are a lot more bombers in the air to shoot at.

--  High altitude bombers have given aircraft such as the 152 a real niche in which they can excel

I think the B29 perk price is working just fine.  Unperk and here come the B29stukas.

I had a few B-29 engagements over the weekend. There are five airplanes in the game that are really good at keeping with a 29 at altitude but it doesnt take a whole lot of imagination from the bomber pilot to make it very very difficult to attack in any way except from the rear where the bomber has 2000 rds of ammo to deal with you. At 30k you have to remain on the ball to stay fast enough to attack this bomber properly and if you dont know what I mean by properly then save the rebuttle. Once empty the 29 can make 400+ and if the pilot cares to lose just a touch of altitude he can go much faster (at one point I was doing 460 in a Jug and just staying on equal footing). It is not invulnerable but it doesnt take much of a pilot to stay alive in a formation or single plane either one.

Bottom line... the 29 deserves to be perked and probably deserves to be perked even higher.
