Jug,

I understand what your saying, afterall $$$ is a great motivator but wouldn't this idea unbalance things??

You'd have players that have plenty of money to throw around with a complete hanger full of the latest and greatest but you'd also have many players without the means to fill their hanger and by your example they'd be penalized by virtue of only having access to the "limited planeset".

My 2 cents on the subject.

         :salute

This is a great point! With that said I hope all will realize that with a customer base that rarely changes (it may have turnover) but growth seems to be slight if at all, It is an extraordinary thing that HTC does to poor resources into furthering a product with relatively little return for the "added" resources put forth! It truely is extraordinary.

In my business IF there was little to no reward for added effort I would put my resources and effort where it would have a return for me.

Everyone here should truely undesrstand this and be quite thankfull!  IMHO

IMO they should focus on advertising before every even considering your idea :)

99.9718% of people have never heard of Aces High 2
Do more commercials on history and military channel.
Also everything else in this economy is going up why not bump subscription prices to 19.95$

i don't know about you Belial...but i have payed 14.95 for last ten years and i hope to only pay 14.95 until the day i die...and anyway the price of "tangable goods" have gone up for supply demand reasons/ the 1% of the country that controls most of the $ F...ed us up bad and are making us pay for it. But i agree with more ads on History/ military channel. and something better then old ads they were lame... maybe a donation option can be added for ads... with a couple of perks for your charity or some federal tax exemption credits. i sure would donate when ever i can knowing that it is to keep price at 14.95 and it will be used to bring in more player

So you'd pay extra to keep the price at 14.95?  :headscratch:

This is not realistic and I guarantee HTC expenses go up every year. It is quite an achievement that they have managed to keep the same price for so long. I suspect the 50-60K gross he gets per month (which is nothing when it comes to business) for this product is rather small compaired to related endeavors they are involved with these days! Just a guess on my part.

Still the best way to motivate a business to support more of what the customers enjoy is thru the almighty $. This truth has and will stand the test of time!

I must admit I'm quite suprised that so few support a small fee to have more of what you want!

Honestly if it is a cost issue and a few extra bucks now and then is too much, maybe the sub $ would be better spent for RL issues IF these folks are honestly that strapped for cash! I know if my finances were so tight I could not justify a few more bucks now and then, common sense dictates I could not justify the $15 now  ;)

You get what you pay for in this world,  pay more you'll get more and or better quality!

It would be interesting if HTC would post on these boards something like this:

Dear customers we are studying the potential to grow our inventory line by adding 2 new vehicles each quarter and a graphics upgrade once a year. These improvements require resources. Currently any additions and improvements we make have been pro bono. we are asking if our customer base would pay an additional "1 time fee" for each additional vehicle they may want. There is no requirement to purchase any vehicle and you may pick and choose of the new ones developed, the estimated 1 time cost is $3 per additional vehicle. The current vehicle list will be secured as the "basic package" so no fear in losing any vehicle you currently enjoy. This is merely a means to facilitate further resources put forth for more products and greater depth of service we provide you. Again there is NO involuntary added expense to our customers, thanks for your patronage!

What say you?

somethin like that :)  what would be the response do you think?

I probably wouldn't use a company that is no longer in business as an example.

This is one reason I don't think it'll work JUGler;  what aircraft would they come out with?  Updates no doubt help maintain customer base and draw in new customers.  Let's say they come out with an He-111, cool plane, I'd like to see it, but I wouldn't pay extra for it.  Like the new Betty, it's fun to fly now and then, but if I had to have made the decision a couple months ago if I would have payed extra for it... no way.  Now the B-29, yeah, I'd be willing to pay for that.  So IMO, only the "uber" planes would pay off, but HTC would have no incentive to release anything less.  I think it would only end up with the usage of more low ENY planes.  New players would come in, pay their $15, and realize they can't fly the planes they want unless they pay extra for each one!  That will only scare many of them off.  Frustrating the current population, and scaring off new customers, sounds like poor incentive to me.

Again excellent feedback, although they could guarantee 2 vehicles per quarter or just more frequent and reliable updates that in itself may be incentive for some to "buy in"

Think of it like shoes, you already have a pair, you don't need them but it would be nice. Now when at the store you could buy the cheap crappy ones or pay more for better but you still must pay for them. With my example the crappy and good ones are the same price. Paying more for something "more uber" is not the point. Incentivising thru pay for more "bells and whistles, more often is!

Yes moot, but it's main purpose is to condense planes  like the F4u-1c and 1d into a single plane.

Would you consider using it for rarer weapons packages as well? Such as ... hypothetically speaking, 1000lb bombs on P-51s and P-47s? Or say... 8x20mm package on the Me410?

Or would you just use it in a few rare cases like the c-hog?
