perk farming question

To start with Yes I am farmimg perks for a b29 mission next Tueday.

My issue is I landed 19000 in damage from 4 town centers in Midwar this AM. I was flying b26 formation with the 1000lb' er bomb load. I only landed 3.02 points. In the orange arena last night i was using same plane and bomb load with 9000 and 12000 in damage and was getting 8 and 9 points. Is the midwar arena score for damage different than the LW arenas? If so why? Same plane , same loadout, same risk of getting shot down or missing taget.

Take a Boston and hit a town with the 4 500ibs....you will get more perks then landing 30000 damage in a lanc. You have to look at the OBJ number....higher it is the more points you get for killing town buildings ect ect

First, you can't directly "landed damage" message to perk points (or score, too).
Second, the perks gained by bombing are computed in a similar way as the perks for shooting down enemy planes, it's just that instead of your plane's ENY value the OBJ value is used - which means there can be differences between different arenas, as planes can have different ENY ratings in different arenas. And of course that also means the perk modifier applies, too. You get much more perks when flying on the outnumbered side.



And the most effective perk farm bomber is the Ki-67.

The perk bonus may also play a part in this too. Higher perk bonus = more perks. You get a higher perk bonus when your side is outnumbered. I don't know if that is all true since I never really looked into it though.

i've taken lancs up. bombed 3 towns, and landed 24,000+ damage, and gotten 9 perks for it. i dont remember the perk modifier at the time. i always take 18 500lb bombs, and 1 4000lb cookie bomb. have you tried taking your bombs straight down main street, hitting the cluster of buildings? that 1 4000lb cookie bomb is great, if dropped directly on the cluster of buildings.

Drop them on enemy tanks

Use the ki-67 for regular bombing runs, and a plane like the B5N for tank hunting.

b5n2 5600 damage 1.45 perkies 40 obj. it appears to be all relative ATM no matter what plane. 1 bish 4 rooks no knights/ yes i was a rook.

Here's a secret....

I took a G4M1 Betty formation and plastered a town. Full screen of results. landed about 8-9 perks (ENY was in my favor).

Exact same thing the next sortie, bombed another town, same full screen of results.... Only this time a 109K4 trailed me all the way rtb. I ended up shooting him down after taking a lot of damage, but landed all 3 planes.


30 perks!

Back to back sorties. Similar "points" but very different perks.

The secret? Get kills. The OBJ against buildings is very low. The OBJ against planes is much better. Trick is surviving.

That's another reason take the Ki-67 over the Boston or B5N.

The Betty's rear 20mm is of such poor quality that targets sitting 200 off your tail are extremely hard to hit. I don't know if this is a bug or what... I never have this much trouble landing hits with the Bf109E 20mm and this should be of similar trajectory....
