Koba, Dawvgrid and I have just formed an RAF squadron for the CT called "No 73 Hornet Squadron - Piece of Cake".
It is based on a book called "Piece of Cake" by Derek Robinson (suggested reading), a hilarious and interesting account of the adventures of a ficticious RAF squadron from the phoney war through the Battle of Britain.
No 73 squadron did, in fact exist, and its postings correspond to those in the book. The noseart is based on the crest for the real squadron I found on the web. It is "A demi-talbot rampant, charged on the shoulder with a maple leaf" according to the description. Evidently, this squadron was originally Canadian.
Anyway, the squad is there, and I'm CO for now, although at the rate the Hornet squadron went through COs, that won't last long.
Of course, this is a Rook squad in the CT (RAF).
Anyone interested in excellent dining, good facilities, early war RAF madness (expect Hurris and Spits a lot), a good bit of putting the Hun in his place, and certain death if you're tail end Charlie, please let me know. Koba and Dawvgrid can also send invites - and ejects
