VOX Transmit=Lower Game Sounds
« on: March 07, 2011, 10:29:34 PM »
Since we can already lower the game sounds when receiving a VOX transmission, would it be possible to do the same thing when transmitting?  I know that's not a problem for people using headphones, but I prefer not using them.  I like playing the game loud, but when I transmit I don't want people to have to listen to the game in the background.

That would be pretty great. It would save my ears from Range vox at times  :uhoh

I mean, say I'm here playing the game and have my sounds up loud.  Now I have to call someone on VOX/Range.  When I press my key to transmit, my sounds will lowered in my speakers so they are not broadcast with my my voice.
I've heard some other people when they talk on either channel, Range or Vox, and you can hear their game be played while they are talking.

oh i get it...  :headscratch: ...some of that has to do with their mic's and their settings...not sure how the background noise being picked up by their mic's could be filtered on your side though.

If we had this feature and the player had it enabled on their side, when they broadcast their speakers would lowered to a setting of the users choice.  I guess it would be up to that player to enable the feature or not.
Like I was saying, This would really only be needed for people who are not using headphones, as the background/game sounds wouldn't be picked up by the mic anyways.

I would like to add that I use headphones and I would like this idea. When I press the Transmit key I would actually like my game sounds to quieten because the roar of my engines in my ears tends to make me talk louder.  :D Not to mention when I try to talk on channel while someone is blabbering on range channel, it would help with that too.
