most american heavy bombers had an official method to putting our engine fire (cutting fuel to the engine, etc)
if i can find the picture manual i'll post it.
Fuel Off.
Throttle wide open (burn the fuel in engine as quickly as possible)
When engine quits secure engine and feather prop.
Close cowl flaps.
Discharge extinguisher.
