Monster energy drinks has bile in it!?
« on: March 13, 2011, 04:46:27 PM »
Me and a elder friend had a debate whether monster energy drinks, which had TAURINE under its nutrition facts (bull piss is what he thought it was at first) was a myth or not. He pulled out  his phone and searched it, turns out TAURINE is actually bull bile (crap).  :uhoh CAN THIS BE TRUE!?!?!?! Wouldn't the FDA stop this!?!?!

You do know that most foods have Rat crap in em to right? the FDA does put that stuff into food, but in un life threatening amounts that are hardly noticeable.  Peanut butter is most common for rat crap to be in

Synthetic taurine is obtained from isethionic acid (2-hydroxyethanesulfonic acid), which in turn is obtained from the reaction of ethylene oxide with aqueous sodium bisulfite. Another approach is the reaction of aziridine with sulfurous acid. This leads directly to taurine.  Monster uses synthetic Taurine.  real taurine is in fact derived from bile, but not the stuff in your drink  :aok

where do you get this stuff? i find it very difficult to believe someone has such a bad case of cranial rectumitis...but sometimes you remove all doubt that it is possible.

the fda does not manufacture any food products...it is a governing agency that sets and enforces standards for consumer products...it fails miserably just like all red tape government agencies but that's not the point.

food producers do not put rodent feces in food intentionally...the fda has set standards for maximum detectable levels of rodent and insect waste on foods within the food service/restaurant and manufacturing/processing industries...nowhere does it say "insert x amount of rat feces in..."

anyone who believes those energy drinks does anything more than a couple of mountain dews is lost without a clue...drink apple juice, it will do a better job of keeping you awake without poisoning your body.

It's definitely not perfect, but I at least feel safe with the food I buy, I wouldn't call that a failure.

That's not the point though, isn't it sad you have to explain to someone that 1) the FDA doesn't make food and 2) rat feces isn't an ingredient in food.
