i tried skype i didnt see FREE anywhere on the 2nd step it was lookin for a payment plan. thanks tho ill look at xfire

Teamspeak, mumble as far as know are free...free client download and there are free host servers out there...well at least I haven't paid for it yet.....I just use the open sever and have registered a channel for the squad so that it is always there with a password to enter. http://publicteamspeak.com/  This isn't the one our squad uses but it is one from a simple google search...Depends on numbers too...Mine is set for 10 on channel...I can up it though.... I do find that I do get dropped sometimes but then I just go back in.

Skype is a completely free messaging and Skype to Skype calling service, the only thing they charge money for is making calls to landlines and cell phones etc.

It's amazing for 1 on 1 chat and you can join multiple clients to a conference call as stated earlier, though the highest I've gone is a three way call so I can't say much as to the quality of those conference calls.
