didnt the SBD have an electric arming switch? and if it did, how was it used?

i was reading a book and it talked about how glitchy they were.

If you watch the movie Midway the SBDs had that new electric arming device and about half the planes dropped their bombs while arming them.  Not sure if that actually happened but I presume it did.
