StuG III-AH's first tank destroyer!

I started working on a new control method for tanks last week. It will be similar to the control system in  WoT in that movement will be controlled via aswd from any position.

The new system will account for the different turning abilities of wheeled and tracked vehicles including tanks that could have the tracks turn opposite directions.

Main gun control will be available from the commanders position.

We will also be redoing sights to match the real world counterparts.

I have not played much yet with optic clarity, but I have a few ideas to see how they work.

BTW the stug has the ability to shoot at buildings, use its pintle to kill infantry and it can shoot at tanks, everything your 105 can do.

compare the damage a measely 75mm gun could do against a 105mm howitzer. you'll see how your stug is easily outgunned

its a 105mm HOWITZER sherman. it comes with HE rounds as well as HEAT rounds.

Please name any battles on the Western European Front where the 105mm Sherman was used as a tank destroyer or engaged other tanks in combat.

lol what is the velocity of the 105 compaired to the Stug 5$ says that the 105 is a POS anti tank gun with a glacially slow turret transverse, and with paper thin armour, Stug>Sherman

the 105mm howitzer on the Sherman was low velocity with an arching trajectory that made it quite unsuitable for anti-tank combat, let alone hit a tank.  I wouldn't call the manual traverse on the 105mm Sherman slow, I think "painfully slow" was a more accurate description.

What we see from our little lass Tyrannis is not the wish of a player that wants a tank for the historical value it can bring to the game but rather because he saw 105mm gun and thinks it's going to be uber because well, it's a 105mm howitzer and 105mm is bigger than 75mm.

and again, how am I stupid for asking for a tank that would have MULTIPLE roles, including town destruction, field destruction, and engage other tanks, over the stug, which can only do 1 thing.

The StuG was capable of doing what the 105mm Sherman was capable of doing and did it better.  Unlike the 105mm Sherman, the StuG was an effective anti-tank vehicle that was just as effective in the assault role.  The 105mm Sherman was effective in the assault role, supporting the infantry and providing a mobile artillery platform for armored assaults.  It was not effective in the anti-tank role and would be slaughtered if caught in a tank duel, especially if fighting against more than one tank.  That is why the 105mm Sherman was protected by other tanks, to help protect it from other tanks.

i think if we add the 105mm people are gonna cry that they lost 30 perkies and all because the turret traverse was disturbingly slow. as Ack-Ack said the thing was a horrible gun on a pile of wet paper.

only reason im not arguing with ack on what the 105mm is capable of in AH is because i know he'll allways think his opinion is right and everyone elses is wrong (strongly supported by his A-BOMB discussion).

so its not worth getting in another 2 page long argument with a stubborn old man.
