High drama! and guts!
« on: March 19, 2011, 04:38:46 PM »
2x this week I was targeting an enemy plane when a higher con was coming for the pick. One was a p51 and the other a spit something. The check 6s are flying, pressure to turn from target almost unbearable. I check the rearview, he is blazing in. I must have looked so juicy. I gauge his accerelation, judge the distance to my target. I hold my course. I must have that kill! There is only one chance at the kill and it better be good. It feels like an eternity passes in just a second. I fire, target is on fire. Without a second delay I hard rudder left, chop throttle, cut under, whew, he misses and I get the kill.

Awesome stuff!

lol great that it worked out for you! Most times you see the newer greenies doing that and it usually ends up with him shot up on the way down in a flaming wreck and about three secs of range vox whining till you hear BOOOOM lol.......

Newer players make the mistake of target fixation and pulling up. If I'm in a heated battle and I hit a con with a good burst I don't bother watching until the end. I immediately turn or duck. Almost always a con's countrymen will be trying to help.

I forgot who said it but an AW ace once said, "Never fly straight, and it's not just for novelty."

Not sure about the whining, it seems the old timers do more of that to me.  :rofl :rofl

Personally I always think about what I could have tried or what ACM I could have done better.

Now yesterday I received several check 6's. I thought it was for an m3 I was about to bomb. Ooops! Not always at my best.  :lol :lol

I really like the Epaulets on Reaper90's flight suit.  Do those come in Men's sizes?

I so much regret not filming one incident. I was in an m3 and a stuka comes to kill me but he gets damaged or hits the earth. He skids into me and I get tracked. I can't move and he can't move and the text buffer repeats, stu8976 collided with you, stu8976 collided with you on and on. I so much wanted to put a poster saying Mom, Stu8976 is touching me.
