Fastest Dual GPU just got faster

Reviews I have read, and only a couple, say its  as fast, close to equal. 
Also there is the details ,system the card is tested on, type of test, type of benchmarking, and so on. These details can change the output (or benchmarking)of a card very fast.

I was thinking of a new video card and still am. I was looking at the 460 vs 6850. There is so many charts and benchmarks, some say the 6850 is better, then others say the 460 is better, while some say they are about equal.

Actually as far as the nvidia vs ati and which cards are better I could care less. I think the same way as the Intel vs AMD.

Well... after going through the reviews of a single 590 with the reference drivers indicate that even a single 580 (and even 570) can outperform the card and that SLI setups leave it far behind. This seems to indicate that the drivers are not yet optimized. In fact you can only preorder the SLI version so it must be that the drivers are not ready for SLI either (or so it seems). At any rate the design specifications of this card have not been met so there is no point in rushing to conclusions.

The Bottom Line
The value of the GeForce GTX 590 is questionable. It costs within $10 of the Radeon HD 6990 at $710 (depending on street prices), but we have seen more than not the Radeon HD 6990 offers better performance at that price. The Radeon HD 6990 also has more RAM with 2GB available per GPU, already putting the GTX 590 at a disadvantage. You basically get less memory for the same price with the GTX 590.

No Ripley. I referenced that so you could see directly what the manufacturers are saying. My trusted source is always Anandtech and I think you know that.

Yes its true that each individual will have to decide how much overclocking they will have to do to achieve the speed they want for the amount of noise they are willing to put up with. Its been clear since they were first announced that these cards would be nearly silent and that the performance was reined in. Overclocking tools are included with the cards (I will probably custom modify mine from the beginning). There wont be a whole lot of these cards around and you really have to be an enthusiast to even want one but I think when everything is said and done they will be a powerful tool for serious gaming. Most people should wait for the next generation and skip this one.

Also... who are they kidding with the 4GB versus 3GB comparison? We all know that none of these cards are referencing enough memory to need 4GB.

Yes I read it and it is a bit odd that something could be 'likely' and 'conclusive' both dont you think? Its the same issue we have seen in the past when something new like this comes along the drivers need to catch up. Too late anyway Ripley. Your arguing against something to probably the only person in AH to actually buy them and they are already shipped.

I like the fact that Nvidia has reverted to the center single fan over the squirrel cage (a LOT quieter!) & they are very appeasing to look at!

I might jump for a single 590 when I upgrade from my current setup.

I will but... given the fact the P67 isnt out yet and that these are limited in available quantities it will likely be too late to buy one by the time I finish putting that system together.
