Shortbus's First Sound Pack.
« on: March 24, 2011, 08:19:27 PM »
I have used my own pack for a few years. It started out as Mitsu's and then I change a few things and added some from other guys like Ranger and them.
I changed the eng start for the 109's and the B25's. (but they are authentic) I also changed the tank guns to some sounds that I found. They are actual tank guns but some think they are a bit soft. You can change them if you want. I have also have the "whistling death" sound in the F4U. The engine for the F4u4 I found online. Its also authentic, but i changed all the F4's to that. Stole the Ki for the Betty and the 24 for the 29. I have actual B29 sounds just need to tweak them a bit. Shotgun starter on the Brewster. I hope you like it. Please give me some feedback.

Nice.  Im trying it out right now with particular attention to the tank gun sounds.  I'd really like to find sounds that play out the full reload times for each tank.

Thanks for the effort, so far so good.   :)    :salute

I hear some of mine too  :aok

Gary maybe change name o "Gary`s Mix Of sounds"

If this was "your" soundpack then every one that picks and chooses sounds in their packs could post
sound pack downloads as if they made them

Not trying to be rude but, us sound guys spend a great deal of time researching and working on sounds

I kow there maybe that rare occation that a sound or 2 will sound the same as another sound pack but when most of them do, then there is a issue with us other sound pack creators.  I think TB and I have the same A8 sound or close to it even though we both created that sound.  It just so happens we probably used the same source sound file.

Glad I didn't even bother downloading that.  I'm happy with TB's sounds with only variations being to the B-17 (that's what I usually fly).  And I think I used USRangers for that one.
Probably never change these, because I'm used to how things sound now.

I agree though, you should not use others sounds to make a 'custom sound-pack', then try and take the credit.

Good luck in your future endeavours Gary.

Hold up. Lets back the flame train up. First off, I never claimed to have made all the sounds. Yes I guess I should have called it "mix of sounds" I suppose. It is a pack of stuff I like from Mitsu's and rangers. Almost positive that I didnt use anything from Twinboom or Dogg. For that matter some of TB's stuff and Dogg's stuff sounds alot like Fruda's. The sound for the .50's i got from soundranger.com, the F4U4 I got from a wav file I found on a website about the motor in the u4. The 109 start, 25 start, and tank guns are also from sound ranger. Got a few things from audio micro but im having trouble looping them. I checked out TB's and Dogg's but to be honest they were not any different from the sounds I already had so I didnt use them. I pulled from Mitsu and ranger.

Also, as in saying my own pack, I should have said my own compilation. As far as a new lameness, give me break. I never once said that I created all the sounds. Didnt mean to come across like I did. I can provide sources for everything I did claim to be "mine". TB and Dogg I mean no disrespect at all. I listened to your packs and didnt see much of a difference between you american engines and Fuda's dedicated.
For the sake of future flaming for any efforts I will gladly give any of you the files I am working on, but having trouble with so any of you can finish them. I have the B-29 and a different P-47.

Well first off you show me where I said the B29 was mine. All I said was that I just used the B24 sounds for the 29. As far as the B25, I can show you where I got it. Just go to www.soundranger.com. I have a B29 engine that nobody else has. Two issues with it are; #1 It is the Wright 3350 that was in the early model. The Motor was prone to problems so it was changed to the  P&W R-4360. #2 is I dont think the file that I have is long enough and Im also having trouble looping it. Oh, the B25 start is from soundranger.com, not the looped part. I have been tinkering with the sound stuff for a few years. Trying to learn what I can. I have bought sound files of the web and purchased CD's of plane sounds off of Amazon.
oh and u know this would not have happened if your just sated the packs u used.
If I used anything from TB or Dogg I dont recall. If I knew I that I had I would have given them credit as I did to Mitsu and ranger. Besides 95% of the stuff sounds the same. Can you say Dogg, Ranger, or TB didnt "steal from Fruda or mitsu, or vice versa. Im not trying to steal credit for anything I didnt do, but I will stand behind the stuff I did do, with sources, if you guys want to call me out on it.

Couple of things u should know.  I can give u the source's for just about 90% of my sounds.  Most of my sounds come from live recordings within the cockpit.  P38, P51, B17, 109, F4F, FM2, F4U, F6F, Zeke, B25, C47, Spits, Camel, DR1, DVII, B26 and a few others are live recordings.  Holding the CD's here in my hand as I type.  Other sources are from other games like FSX, WWIIO, etc..  I spent 4-5 months making all the sounds I have.  That is alot of work, especially when u have a wife and 2 kids that I took time away from.

2nd thing u should know is you should ask the people u are using their sounds before had.  Get there permission.  HTC asked me if they could use my camel sound before they made it the default sound.  They may have even used the DVII sound to, can't remember.  And yes I gave them the permission.  I personally wouldn't mind if they asked for more.  I always help them out anyway I can.

For future reference, Ask before u take.
