Been following this thread, and I'm really glad to hear that news.  <S> for keeping your cool during all this, especially when you were getting trolled here by someone with too much free time (although in the grand scheme of things, he was just a minor annoyance).  Glad to hear it worked out, and I'll keep all this in mind next time I'm looking for a car.

 :salute

:lol  Just because I don;t believe his story and you don;t agree with me, it does not mean I am trolling.  Maybe it is the way he writes that makes me not buy it.

However, it looks like it was easily resolved so I guess I do have a point eh?  Toyota was never out to get any one.

And no, I still don't buy it.  Not a troll, just what I think.  You are all for having opinions as long as they are the same as yours right?  :lol

So they didn't send an elite squad if Japanese happy ending specialists then?  Sorry BlueJ.

It's not a thread until somebody refs the Money Shot...   :aok

Just play along, Dedalos. Sure, the guy could've made this krap up, but it serves my interests - and my interests and America's interests are inseparable, see?

What about Hyundai and their 100,000 mile powertrain warranty?  What about Nissan and their all-electric leaf?  What about Honda?  My mom has an Accord and the thing is built like a tank.  Over 100,000 miles on it and the only damage is to the exterior (big scrape on the front bumper).  It still pulls 29 mpg, only falling 3 mpg from the day it was purchased.

There's a lot to be said for import cars, i.e. BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, Honda, Hyundai, and a myriad of high-end companies (Lotus, Ferrari, etc.).  They're good companies, and they all have their faults.  Just because it's US made doesn't make it any better- a piece of garbage from Germany is just as useless as a piece of garbage from Japan, China, or the US.

if i'm not mistaken, the feds require 10 year/100k mileage coverage on emission related components. that would include the entire drivetrain.

Did you mean he serves your interests?  I kind of got that.  If the guy was not in the Navy people would not have been as sympathetic.  Its like an automatic good guy.  In my opinion it comes down to why anyone joins.  Some should be admired by everyone and some not.  The uniform does not make the person.  Its the person that makes the uniform.

But, maybe I did not get what you meant by "it".  Sorry if I did.

Not quite. More info on the details of the emissions warranty are readily available online.

The only thing that works is to send registered letters to as many executives as you can find.  Force them to sign for the letter.  That would get them to read them.  Right now some secretary is probably throwing them away.

That been said, I still don;t buy your story.  For 3 months you did not notice that you had an extra 570$ in your account?  What you fail to understand is that you were responsible for those payments you did not make. Good luck to you.  There will always will be people looking for a sad story to listen too.  Next time make the payments and the big bad wolf will not bother you.  Funny is that you have security clearance and we trust you with some good stuff but you cant figure out that your salary basically doubled for 3 months  :lol
did you guys even read the account of what happened??/ they were taking the freakin money and not applying it to the loan, sounds illegal as hell to me.I think the Navy doesnt want you to goto the press because they might look bad???I will never buy  anything from toyota
