If your going to HO, don't use a Spit16 for it.
« on: March 27, 2011, 10:15:07 PM »
90% of the people who fly Spitfire mk XVI just HO and run, incapable of anything else. I understand there will always be noobs and HO is the easiest way to kill anyone, but why use Spit16s for it? Spit16 is very bad at HOing, yes it has 2 20mm canons, but it can not take much fire, it is easy to shoot thous wings off,  it is easy to get an oil hit (and spitfire don't last long with an oil leak) or take out the engine completely. If you still want to use a Spit16 use it for low altitude turn fighting, that's what it's good for, not HOing. A typically noob needs something that can run fast, Spit16 not a fast airplane, there are a lot of planes that run a lot better.
If you do want to HO and run that bad, take an La-7. It has 3 20mm canons on the nose, a radial engine that can take more fire than Spitfire's V12, and it's one of the fastest runners.

So PLEASE stop HOing in Spit16s, your giving Spitfire a bad name and the Spitfire sucks at HOing.

Here is a lit of all the non-perk airplanes that are better at HOing than a Spit16, so please don't use a Spit16 for it.

B-25H
B-26
A-20
P-47 (All)
Typhoon
Bf 109 (G-2, G-6, G-14, and K-4)
Bf 110G-2
Fw 190 (All)
Hurricane Mk IIC
Mosquito Mk VI
La-5FN
La-7
Il-2

BTW you'll be getting perks by flying thous planes, so you'll be able to start HOing in a 262 faster....  :bolt:

That's why I gave up trying to get people to stop HOing, now trying to at least get them out of Spit16s (by explaining the truth).

They like to use the Spixteen because when you dodge the first HO attempt, it is easier for them to get their nose around to try again.

I'm only worried when spit 16's don't HO.

Usually they just run until they are 5K away and turn back for another HO.

Yesterday i upped an il-2 from an almost capped base. Over the town a spitfire tryed to ho me. When he got closer, i could see that he is a spit14. I only could hit him on his 5th pass... So there is a better plane to ho in.  :D

LOL I had some clown decide to HO my D9 last night in a Zero. I let it slide the first time. The second time I saw him firing I shot back. He fell apart like a poorly made house infested with termites
