Horde & a good fight
« on: April 03, 2011, 12:35:36 PM »
Last evening when I logged on, the Orange Arena was full and all by squadies were there. So, I entered Blue to immediately to find a Horde attempting to NOE into a73 with B-25's & escorts. I launched a 110G-2 w/ Rkts killed 7 bombers and 1 fighter, Then here comes Husker to help me. Hewwww! Felt great to have someone else there. He killed a few more of them. I landed my kills quickly while Husker had them distracted, and a few more Rooks showed up. Great! Now comes a good fight. I re-upped and killed 3 more ftrs in my 110 by drawing them back into ak, then turning on their 6 when the pulled away. The town was flat & white flagged, & our VH was down. Now the horde was all returning ftrs. Every time I attempted to up, I got vultched. So I go up to a74 and bring an M-16 & Hide under a tree in town, still white flagged, & no enemy ftrs even looking at the town...? I get a proxy kill, can't see anyone or here any fighters comin' near town. Hmmm?  :headscratch: Suddenly I start getting pinged, Tow, Tow, Tow. It's the fighter that I got the proxy kill on trying to shoot me with his pistol.  :salute I could not get aimed at him. He was too close & short. I start up and run over him, turned around & he was gone. Then this Goon starts comin' right in my sights, on the deck, in the opposite direction from the fight & the enemy bases. Excellent technique, except no enemy fighters did a fly-over of town. The bailed pilot didn't An M-16 is fast, but easy to kill. Any one other those ftrs could have strafed me. The bailed pilot didn't tell on me either. The Goon lands about 2k below & behind the bldgs, but here come the goons running(Cool new Soldiers). I killed them so easily. My Point?
1. Very well planned attack, with key loop-holes.
2.If they had been on the deck over water(Really NOE) we would not have reacted so quickly.
3.They could've still taken the base, but someone dropped the ball.
4. No one saw the Goon until I alerted them. If I was dead they would've taken the base.
5. Great fight(Except the Vultching :furious) & good defense Rooks! It lasted quite a while and I bet they enjoyed the fact that it wasn't an easy take. Some of the hardest fights are the best whether you win or loose. If you weren't there you missed a good one.  :aok

Thanks guys!! If you were there(or not)add your thoughts please?

Sounds like fun! I was at a base own in an m8 where we just sunk the cv. They kept upping pt boats and everyone was focused on killing the pts. I then thought that was a distraction and announced it on country channel. A couple minutes later a c47 shows up on the back side I kill it with my pintle gun and the troops. Always good to think ahead.
