I see a lot of people use the word "need" when they really mean is "want".

The only U.S. aircraft that I would like the see is the B-25J. IMO we should get the B-25J because the lack of defensive firepower on the B-25C.

New fighter airframewise (sorry USSR), I would love to see any of the following: J2M3/J2M5, Ki-43-I/Ki-43-II, Ki-44-II, Ki-45, Ki-102, Me410, Beaufighter, Whirlwind, P-61A/P-61B, Ju88C-6, Ju88G-7.

Going from memory on new fighter planes introduced since the B-24 when standards were upgraded:

F4U-1
F4U-1A
P-38J
P-39D
P-39Q
P-47N
P-47M
Mossie 6 (You could argue this! Totally different plane!)
Brewster
Bf109G-14
A6M3
Ki-84
I-16

F4U-1 was added in AH1.  P-38G was added in AH2, as were the Spitfire Mk VIII and Spitfire Mk XVI.  I'd include the Ki-84 in the AH2 fighter list as well.  If you count the Mosquito Mk VI as an arguably new aircraft, you would have to do the same for the Spitfire Mk Vb as well.

You and me are pretty much on the same page for what we want to see added Karnak, for the Ki-44, I would have the IIb and IIc though, as no matter how bad the Ho-301 would be, they would be usefull for 1 pass kills on bombers

Karnak: The Spit5 was reverted back to normal. Don't forget it started the way it is now, only with 2x the cannon ammo. They just restored it.

As for the P-38G, I don't think you're right. I recall 2 P-38 models going way way way back. One was the G and the other I thought the L. When we had the 38s remodeled/updated they added the J. I recall all the fuss on the forums, people kept calling it the PJ etc. Now I could be getting the J and L mixed up because they are so similar, however I'm pretty sure the G was around for a long time before that.

P.S. I did include the Ki-84... Look at the bottom of my list :)

Iwo: The 40mm was such a terrible weapon with such bad speed and trajectory and reliability that you had to fire it nearly point blank, in which case it wasn't doing you any good. That's why they went to the 20mm loadout after the abyssmal (yes, abyssmal) performance of the 40mm. The Japanese 40mm and 30mm guns were really not desirable weapons.

The P-38G and the P-38J were added at the same time when AH was updated to AH2.  Prior to that we only had the P-38L.
