770th BS/462nd BG B-29, Lady Boomerang
« on: April 06, 2011, 05:07:32 PM »
This is my skin of Lady Boomerang, an olive drab B-29 of the 770th BS, 462nd BG based at Pairdoba in India during July 1944.

I can't get this skin to display properly in the game so I've had to use a skin viewer screenshot instead. Offline the current version of game seems to use whatever material file the default skin for that aircraft uses rather than the one that's in the skin's folder. In the case of the B-29 this gives the olive drab B-29 a high gloss appearance. A bare metal B-25H appears that used to display correctly offline (i.e shiny) now has a matt finish. I am assuming this is a bug with this version of the game.

Beautiful as always, Greebo.  Really like the look of nose art at 2048 man.

To answer your question more seriously, I think it's because with the nose art it is historically accurate.

Boy oh boy, my "joystick" can't wait to fly that plane...  :bolt:
