I posted AP performance earlier in the thread at 1000 yards.  It will defeat 32 or 43mm at 0 degrees, depending on which AP round HTC chooses.  The HE round compares very closely with the 75mm on the Sherman, and it even has more velocity which gives it a flatter trajectory.
already thinking of positioning the M3 GMC in and around town chokepoints. would work very well there without aircraft

depending on how it's employed but will probably end up as nothing more than a moving target for the Panther or Tiger.

no  :bhead

:rofl LOL, I want the M18 too, but think about it, this addition of the M3 as a gun platform really does have a lot in common with the M18....

Both are fast
Both are lightly armored
Both can be killed with machine guns

Was wondering if the cannon model would be able to carry troops. Looking at the ammo loadout, I'm figuring no.

fast, mobile arty. I can see fast runs to take down shore batts. quick runs to town to start reduction before defenses can respond. running out to meet and bushwack GVs headed for town or field. much more useful the the 251.

Apple vs orange.  A very big advantage the 251 had over the M3 was its ability to traverse rougher terrain and through snow and mud better (not an issue in AH obviously).  Speed is not the only factor when comparing the 251 and the M3, even in AH.  ;)

Perhaps HTC will add more variants of the SdKfz 251 chassis?

251/9: 7.5cm infantry gun.  Very similar to what we have on the LVT-4.
251/21: triple MG151/20.  20mm AA or infantry support.
251/22: 75mm Pak 40 (same as Panzer IV).

I agree.  Hope and pray!  If there was a "catch all" in WWII, the SdKfz 251 was it.
