dear hitech...
« on: April 07, 2011, 11:42:09 PM »
my wish looks easy, i dont know if it is complicated to do...
I have one problem on my good and old joystick, when i move the throtle axis it influences a lot on the X axis and if i leave the throtle in a determined position it is like if I were moving the X axis to some side:
Like if I throtle forard (more power) the X goes rigth, of course that I can control it with the hand on the stick but it makes everything harder to do.

now my wish:
I just wish that when you put the auto pilot on, it doesnt automatcly goes off when you move the stick or rudders. with my joystick problem i cant use auto pilot... and if i cant use auto pilot and have to control all the time that problem it makes it impossible to go on long rides and etc.
it could be an option on fligths preference "automat off auto pilot" if selected you would have it like it is today, but if you unselect it, the only way to turn off the auto pilot would be by pressing x again. just like in the H were you toggle the mouse controll. you have to press H again.

uh...i know this may seem overly simple but, buy a new stick problem solved.

here is a good one...separate throttle...

expecting htc to make a change to the system because you have a messed up piece of hardware isn't even within the realm of reasonable.

My guess is you have a usb stick and it is underpowered. I bet it is not getting enough power and can be solved by purchasing a powerd usb hub.

guys i have a new joystick but i just cant get used to it, i feel like i have no arms when i use it. hitech, thanks, that migth solve the problem,. i dont know what a power hub is but ill sure try to get that but well.. back to my wish, i think it could be mapped on the keys you know? like we have X for auto pilot we could have an option "auto pilot toggle" so those who wanted it to be x map it so..
but I will try to find the power hub, i have some friends that understand about computers

Means a little USB box intermediary between your stick and the computer, that has its own power supply.

They should be pretty easy to find and usually they're pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for.

only airleron. and if i use the dead band it affects deeply my figths. the bug on my stick goes all the ay to one random side without even moving and holds to that side and i have to FORCE the stick to the oposite side, if i use dead band i migtyh even be able to use the auto pilot but after that my fligth would be out of controll

You need a new joystick, or to clean the pots.  The little electronic bits that sense the stick's position.

What brand and model joystick is it?

Moot what he is describing , cleaning would not fix the problem. He is getting cross talk between the channels, I.E. pots. This typically happens when power is just marginal. Sticks work by measuring a voltage drop across the pot. With  a greater voltage drop across one pot more  current is used. If the device is not sufficiently supplied a stick wide voltage drop can occur hence moving all the other axis.
