Much needed Scenario aircraft
« on: April 09, 2011, 09:52:42 PM »
Here are my Top 5 picks for aircraft that are needed in scenarios that which we do not have in game. In no particular order:

1. Bristol Beaufighter
2. Ki-43 Oscar
3. Petlyakov Pe-2 or Tupolev Tu-2
4. Heinkel He-111
5. de Havilland Mosquito B. Mk IV (early/mid war bomber variant)

Of course there are aircraft in game that badly needs updating. I am not going to elaborate on that as it would simply be stating the obvious.

I would also add the B-17E, for the Early/Mid War arenas, no?

Big +1 for the Ki-43.  :aok

And I do agree that numbers 3 and 4 are greatly needed for the Special events. The Russians need a bomber

No... As nice as it would be, it's not really important. More of a luxury than a necessity. Like the P-47M. Nice, but more important ones to fill.

IMO:
C200 or G.50 (only need 1 they were almost the same in all ways)
He-111
Vickers Wellington (over 11,000 built, over half of the first 1000-plane raid was made up of Wellingtons)
Ki-43
Ki-44
Sm.79 or Cant Z.1007
Bf109E-7 or E-7n or E-7z
Panzer III (early war, lighter gun, less armor, no skirt over treads, etc) - can sub for multiple others also

Just for what we have right now, I think the hurricanes and the 110cs are in most dire need of remodeling and rechecking of their flight models. These 2 are used very frequently in all sorts of scenarios and setups. It's not that they are more important than fill-in-the-blank, it's just that they seem to get used a lot more.

The performance and capability of the Halifax are so similar to that of the Lancaster that the two are effectively interchangeable in scenario terms.  Four engine bombers take a lot of work for HTC to do so asking for them to do one with such a minor return on the investment seems inefficient to me.

The He-111, Pe-2, and the Ki-43 are the three planes that needed to be added to the AH for a multitude of reasons.

why? they only built like 14, and it was only used for a very short period of time. a tanked-up B-24. Might as well add the YB-40 or the B-36, as it was concieved during WWII--1944

Sarcasm.  I know about the history of the B-32, and dam shamed it was not put into service sooner.

Yes, YB-40 was an interesting B-17.  Just could not get the action it they wanted.  Was it the shortest lived AC of WWII?  Meaning when it was put into action and retired out of action

i think they had the ability to put it into service by giving it more powerful engines, because it just wasnt fast enough on the way home as for the shortest lived, i dont think it was. the BA Natter never saw any action, although i know of many that were like that.
