Ta-152H
« on: April 11, 2011, 06:15:23 PM »
When on the runway, the Ta-152H appears to be floating. I know this isn't that serious, but I thought it should be addresed

I believe it's touching, possibly the lack of shadow around the wheels is creating the illusion of floating.

I saw (and you can barely see them in the picture) some small lines around the tires.  No idea how the coding works, but maybe the tire shadows are layered too low.

Yeah I can see what you're saying, it's definitely something with the tire shadows.  Didn't check any other aircraft while I was at it, but it seems to be something.

Often it can be the tiniest detail which can help immerse you in a game.

For example, I recently downloaded Medal of Honor for the PC, first new game I've bought for years.  One of the biggest thing that made that game stick in my mind was that the character had Mechanix gloves on.  It was that attention to detail that stuck in my head and made me  buy and play the game.

What's the verdict on the CoG in the 152? Even with aft tank empty, it still goes into a sometimes fatal tail-down stall. Also, was the landing gear really that weak?  Half the time it will snap off even when taxiing at 10-15 mph
The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.

CoG in the real deal was further back on the plane than what was normal for planes during that time. IIRC they moved the cockpit back for that reason.

The gears were iirc low quality due to slave labour.  Whatever it was, it is described that way in the literature. And they're manageable, you just have to keep the plane in line.  And the tail is the same, you just have to keep the plane flying straight.  The rudder is plenty big enough to keep it in line, and then some.
