To me this judgment was like the jury saying, "We know you did it, we just didn't have the grounds to convict."

The whole trial was a joke, though. Anderson refuses to testify AT ALL and is jailed for contempt of court. Another witness who heavily damaged the prosecution's case gets down off the stand after testifying and SHAKES HANDS WITH THE DEFENSE TEAM. Barry's not the only one who ought to be nailed for obstruction of justice.

Not quite. Bonds was caught in the Balco investigation. Gonzales name was on the 2003 steroid users list (allegedly). Being on that list doesn't mean you were doing anything illegal at the time. Baseball had some of the worst steroid rules of any sport. We don't even know if his name was actually on the list because it's never been made public.

As a matter of opinion, if steroids are legal than I have no issues with a level playing field for those that want to shorten their lives for fame and fortune. But since steroids are KNOWN to be illegal, then these guys are cheaters and should be removed from ANY records, or at the very least, like some mentioned here, put an * next to the name.

I don't think folks realize that there are over 100 types of designer steroids that can improve everything including eye/hand coordination.

Just sayin he was a good player before his 2001 breakout year. Because he played in that era and had a spike doesn't make him guilty of steroids. In 2002 he only hit 28 HR's. was he only roiding up for one season then? It's all speculative BS. The only way we will ever know for sure is if MLB releases the list.

ok.   The one season in question is the 57 hr season.   He nevr came close to the number BEFORE OR AFTER that season.   Luis was a great contact hitter and was never known for his power.  He was known for his doubles and singles.

Now with barry it is much more blatant.   He had one or two full seasons in his career (healthy seasons that is).  He had never reached 50 he's in a season.   He took them because he was merely trying to play games and his body was hurting.

People forget mcgwire hit 49 hr's his first year as a rookie so the power was always there.

As for Luis Gonzalez we watched that guy for years in Houston, it was as blatant as Bonds that he was juiced. Guy was an average stick his whole career then explodes late. You have to have the same IQ as Manny Rameriz to not be able to look at his career numbers and age to see it's your classic steroid explosion. It was most likely his last ditch effort to stay in the league.
