Racing fans...
« on: April 13, 2011, 09:44:47 PM »
Anybody had a chance to see this film yet,

I've been looking forward to it ever since I heard about it last summer, I know it was shown at Sundance this winter but I didn't go, and I can't find any details of if/when it has/will be released on DVD in the US, just that the UK release is June.   Anybody know?

Your pic doesn't show but I'm guessing you are refering to A. Senna the movie? I read about showings but I fail to remember, I'll try to find it.
Dat jugs bro.

i have to look for this movie! didnt knew about, i was a big Senna Fan, first time
i saw him live 1990 in Monza Italy and then the years later allways at Hockenheim,
Senna was a special person and really fast on the track, he is still missed by the fans...

Finally found out that the movie has a Facebook page

http://www.facebook.com/sennamovie

DVD release is June 3rd in UK, and sometime in July in US.

Found it's listed on Netflix already too, have it on my "save" list.

What about Mikka Hakkinen?

I think he deserves to be on anybodies top 5 drivers of all time list.  I loved him just for the awkward silences his single syllable responses in press conferences led to.  :lol

Problem with picking a "Greatest Driver Ever" is that the cars and tech are so different from one era to another it's hard to really tell.  Having said that I think it's telling that in a Top Gear short film they made about Senna last year;

-Michael Shumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Mikka Hakkinen, Martin Brundle, Mark Webber, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Rubens Barichello, David Coulthard, Jarno Trulli and Nigel Mansell-

are all on record on film saying Senna was #1.    Oh and Nikki Lauda too  (just noticed movie cover art  :aok )

Senna was great but a quality hollywood movie of Tazio Nuvolari would be epic.

That terrible racing movie with Sylvester Stallone started out as a dramatization of Senna, but then they decided it wasn't exciting enough so they made it totally fiction.

They should've stuck to their original inclination. Senna was a master all his own.
