i dont think the next cloverfield will be a "sequal". i think it will be the same monster, in the same timeline,  but instead the movie will be based off another groups point of view.

the reason i think this is because in an interview JJ abrams did about cloverfield, he did nothing but nonstop talk about because of the way they filmed cloverfield, theres tons of points of views that could be made out of that movie.

he used the bridge scene as an example, when the guy is filming lady liberty burning, for a few secs you see someone else filming the main charectors on there cell phone. Abrams said thats what he means when theres so many points of views in cloverfield. so i think the next cloverfield will be the same location and all, just a diff point of view. but ether way i hope they have more action scenes in the next cloverfield movie. i loved the monster scenes in the original, but it just seemed so few.

Yeah I was just calling it a sequel because that's what IMDB had it listed as, but yeah it could definitely be the same movie but just from another POV, maybe even from the POV of the Army this time, I think that would make a good sequel.

There's also the possibility of a prequel, showing where the creature came from.  In the months before Cloverfield was released they had these videos on the internet that were supposed to be the video diary's of a woman living in New York who's boyfriend was away on business & worked from some mysterious company, well he ends up sending her this package but tells her in a note not to open it, so of course she thinks it's a surprise gift and wants to see it, so she opens it, but it's just some weird substance wrapped in tinfoil, I kinda forget what happens after that but you get the picture, they wanted us to believe that this guy worked for a company that either knew about the creature, or created it.  I'm sure if you look online you should still be able to find the video diary's, there were like 6-8 of them, each a few min's long.

i dont think the monsters was man-mande. because if you look closely at the end of the movie, after nyc is nuked and the camera cuts back to them on the ride at the carnival, the camera will be facing the sea for a few seconds, and if you look juuussstttt close enough you can see this giant object go shooting into the ocean. which im assuming was the monster landing from entering out atmosphere. but those diaries could be tied to it. like whatever that substance was, it summoned the monster. or something along those lines. japan released a 13 book comic about this little girl who had some connection with the monster. idk how i never read it.

it got delayed, ever since homefront came out, the creators of Red Dawn 2 have decided to change the main villian from chinese to korean. so they have to go in & digitally alter the chinese symbols, cloths, etc to look korean.
